Data Management Guide

Data management planning

Working with research data does not start only with data collection. It is important to determine in advance how the data will be collected and processed or how to access it within the team. To plan the research data management throughout its lifecycle, there are so-called Data Management Plans (DMPs), which you can learn more about in the EOSC CZ lecture. Currently, there are tools for creating and maintaining DMPs, the most prominent of which is the Data Stewardship Wizard.

Support in creating Data Management Plans is provided by Data Stewards - experts in research data management, who are gradually being recruited by research institutions across the Czech Republic. In some universities, the role of Data Stewards is performed by methodologists from Open Science centres, librarians or project support.
