Members of the working groups elected their leaders. In addition to leading their teams, they play a crucial role in suggesting topics and direction for the community in their field. This unique opportunity allows them to influence the direction of research data management in the Czech Republic and contribute to developing open science and innovation. From 18 to 21 March 2024, the election results produced 12 experienced professionals ready for this role.
"The elections on the online platform went smoothly and without technical problems. All voters cast their votes without any problems and without having to contact us as technical support," comments Michaela Ručková, Secretary of the Core Services and National Data Infrastructure Architecture working groups, who is also one of the main organizers of the elections for the EOSC CZ Secretariat. "Moreover, we were pleased with the relatively high turnout, which shows the healthy interest of the working group members in the democratic process."
The average voter turnout was 57.7%, representing most eligible voters. The Materials Science and Technology working group recorded the highest voter turnout, reaching 81.1%. In the Data Management for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Working Group, 47.3% of the eligible voters from among the members of the Working Group voted in favour, which, in contrast, represents the lowest turnout.
A total of 444 ballots were cast, a significant number of votes that contributed to the legitimacy and representativeness of the results. Complete and transparent information on the results for each candidate and working group can be found in the table below.
