The NRP project of the EOSC CZ initiative successfully passed the peer review

The National Repository Platform for Research Data project has successfully passed a key evaluation and was approved by the Evaluation Committee of the P JAC Managing Authority. The project began on 1 January and has already undergone seven months of intensive work.

At the end of June, an important meeting of all eleven partners involved in the National Repository Platform for Research Data project took place in Prague. The main objective of the meeting was to present the progress, share key information, and discuss plans for the upcoming period.

Representatives of EOSC CZ at the ESOF 2024 conference

In mid-June, representatives of EOSC CZ participated in the EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF 2024) in Katowice. This event is among the significant international conferences focusing on the latest scientific advancements and their societal impacts. EOSC CZ strengthens collaboration with Austria

June was marked by international visits and the consolidation of international cooperation. Meghan Bohardt and her colleagues from the EOSC SOA at the University of Vienna, Tereza Kalová, Chris Schubert, Marie Czuray, and Bernd Saurugger, participated in an intensive programme in Brno with presentations on the EOSC CZ Initiative and open science at Masaryk University.

Development of the European EOSC and the concept of the EOSC Federation

The development of the EOSC is an evolving process that gets closer to a working implementation every year. The most recent development in the architecture of EOSC is the federation of nodes. For the purpose of gradually identifying and registering candidate nodes into the EOSC Federation, a questionnaire has been created to determine general interest and readiness for the phase of building the EOSC Federation through connection to these nodes.

Practical tips from the summer school in Crete

The second edition of the NFFA 2024 international summer school was organised by the Nanoscience Foundries and Fine Analysis research infrastructure in Heraklion, Crete. Postgraduate students, researchers, and technicians from academia and industry gained hands-on experience with NFFA-Europe´s data management, metadata, and remote access tools. Olga Bohuslavová and Vladimíra Coufalová from EOSC CZ were among the participants of the summer school and shared their insights with you.

We break stereotypes about data

Marika Hrubá studied museology, library and information studies and is now part of the Open Science Core team at Masaryk University. Thanks to the HR4MUNI project, the Open Science Core team has been operating at MU since 2020. Its goal is to establish policies, infrastructure, and systematic support for the development of open science. Read about Marika's role in the project and the support the Open Science Core team offers to researchers.

Our training and other open science events

Summer is a time for rest, and therefore, we do not organise any new training sessions during the holiday period. However, we are intensely preparing for the next academic year, which will be full of interesting training sessions and workshops. The National Library of Technology is thrilled to invite you to the Doctoral Summer School, which will take place on 12 and 13 September in Prague. More information about the workshops for early-career researchers and registration can be found on the NTK website.
